Student Leaders at Hopwood Hall have been learning how to keep themselves - and other students - safe from harm.
The course, a result of joint work between Hopwood Hall College and Rochdale Borough Safeguarding Children Partnership, teaches students about child abuse, the responsibilities of different services and what to do if they are worried about their own safety of the safety of another young person.
The training is based on the RBSCP “Working Together” course for professionals who work with children and families.
Everyone agreed that the half- day session was a great success. One student summed it up, “It was really useful and everyone should get the training so they know how to get help.”
The course materials are available to other agencies via the RBSCP Business Unit
If you know of a youth group that would like to get involved in the training or if you just want more information, please contact Alyson Harvey, RBSCP Development Officer on 01706 925450 or Alyson.Harvey@rochdale.gov.uk
